Funeral services for Mrs. Joseph (Clarice) Wubben, 52, of Buffalo Center who died in an automobile accident near Buffalo Center Saturday, October 5 were held Tuesday morning, October 8 at 10:30 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Buffalo Center with Rev. Jes Tarp officiating. Winter Funeral Service was in charge of arrangements and interment was in Olena Mound Cemetery.
Casketbearers were Pat Higgins, Troy Koester, Roger Alphs, Clarence Voortmann, Clyde Honken and Herman Gruis. Vera Bronleewe was the organist and music was by Neil Wubben and Mary Ellen Behrends, accompanied by Mervin Gramstad.
Clarice June (Doyle) Wubben was born on January 4, 1933 at Dayton, Iowa to Richard and Helen Doyle. She started school at Dayton, but in February of 1942, she entered a rural school in Linden Township. She was a 1950 Thompson High School graduate. She then attended Waldorf College, Forest City, Mason City Junior College and State Teachers College, Cedar Falls. Recently she was attending Buena Vista Classes at NIACC. Through the years she taught at a rural Grant Township school, Crystal Lake, Titonka and Ledyard."

"She married Joseph S. Wubben at the Little Brown Church, Nashua, Iowa on February 27, 1954. Born to this union were three sons, Bruce, Rodney and Richard. Several foster children made their home with Clarice and Joe, namely, Jeff Doyle, Shane Leningham, Troy Koester, Aubrey Brewer, Lesley Palmer and others.
She taught at the Timely Mission Nursing Home for several years. She was teaching G.E.D. class at Buffalo Center. She was employed at North Central Human Services in Forest City. She was an active church member, teaching Sunday School,Awana's and a Mission Band member. She also belonged to Friendly Club.
Clarice is survived by her husband, Joseph; her sons and their wives, Bruce and Robin Wubben, Forest City; Rodney and Vicki Wubben, Buffalo Center, and Richard, at home; two grandchildren, Michelle and Jason; her mother, Helen Doyle,Thompson; four sisters, Mrs. Daniel (Mary) Thorland, Mrs. Palmer (Charlotte) Hamlin, Mrs. Elwood (Dorothy) Norstrud, all of Thompson, and Mrs. Milton (Phyllis) Hauan, Whittier, California and two brothers, Richard Doyle, Marshalltown and William Doyle, Owatonna, Minnesota.
Her father, Richard Claire Doyle, preceded her in death."
