Note: Funeral services will be held at the Miller Funeral Hoem at 2 PM for Ben Akkerman, 55, Humboldt area famer, who died at a local hospital Tuesday noon after a long illness. The Rev Gilbert Beenken will officiate, with burial in theWoodlawn Cemetery.

Born in Ashton, IA May 11 1897, Mr. Akkerman moved to a farm just North of Sioux Falls. Five years later he moved to a farm in the Tea area. in 1916, he moved to a farm in the Hartford area and remained there until 1950 when he moved to afram 6 miles southeast of Humboldt.

Mr. Akkerman married Margaret Evans, in Luverne, MN March 28 1945. He was member of the presbyterian Church.

Survivors are his widow; a son Roger,2; two daughters Carolyn 6, and Ellen 4, six brothers John and Edward of Rushmore, MN; George of Salem; Herman of Willow Lake; William of Montrose; and Mike of Hartford; and three sister Mrs. JennieHilton of Sioux Falls; Mrs. Anna Gerken of Tea; and Mrs. Minnie Bates of Ocheydan, IA.
