Henry and Marcus were twins.
During his captivity in Canada, from 1780 - 1788, Henry lived for twoyears under the command of General Murrey in Quebec, and six years withCapt George Lawe at Quebec, and at Paspebiac on the northern shore of theBay of Chaleur, on the Gaspe Peninsula.
It was Henry, who in June of 1798 on behalf of his himself and his threebrothers, petitioned for 200 acres of land each from the governement ofCanada. In the petition he mentions that they had each leased land fromtheir great-uncle, Joseph Petry, of Louth township on the NiagraPeninsula, adn were engaged in farming it.
Joseph Petry, a United Empire Loyalist, had beena sargeant in Butler'sRangers during the Revolutionary War.
Henry Schell moved in 1798, to "Nellis Settlement," at the "forty miles
creek" in the township of Grimsby, between Hamilton and Niagara. One or
two years later, he moved to Markham, Ontario, 24 miles North of Toronto.
Here all his children were born except Henry and Elisabeth, the two elder.
Henry Schell died at Ingersoll, Ontario, at the residence of his sonDaniel,
12th, April, 1859. His wife Mary Moyer died at the same place, 26th
September, 1860.
