Register of Deeds, Deed book 2, page 603-634. is wife...Gift of 290 acres unto James Green. Then came Capt. Richard Graves and acknowledged unto Joseph Edmundson & heirs and assigns, conveyance for 270 acres of land and it is registered in Book A."Nelson of same county, 100 acres more or less. Begin at Fork of Creek taht divides "White Hall Neck and Smith's Neck", being part of a tract containing 900 acres, granted by Wm. to James Keith and by said Keith to Joseph Edmondson and John Carroway. Viz: To said Edmondson 100 acres and John Carroway 801. In presence of us: Rich'd Lovett, Nichs. Routledge. Recorded 19 June 1742 - Edward Griffith.dmondson of Craven County in North Carolina being weak in body but of perfect memory Thanks be unto God, therefore calling to mind the mortality of my body and knowing that it is appointed for all men once to die, do make and ordain this my last Will and Testament, that is to say primarily and first of all, I recommend my Soul into the hands of God that gave it and my body I recommend to the Earth to be buried in a Christian manner at the discretion of my Executors, nothing doubting but at the general Resurrection I shall receive the same again by the mighty power of God and as touching such worldy Estate wherewith it hath pleased God to bless me with in this life, I give, devise and dispose of the same in the following manner and form:son a negro girl named Hannah with all her increase to him and his heirs forever and also I give to him my said son John edmondson one feather bed and furniture also one gun.ueath to my son Thos. The original will which is in the NC Department of Archives & History in Raleigh, NC plainly shows 1744. The original Will is badly discolored and parts of it are unreadable. We are fortunate to find the transcription in the Secretary of State's office.jamin who dies in 1726 who marries a Margaret Underwood while Ted Miller list the other.* However in Joseph's Will he names Priscilla as his wife.ndson of ye County of Essex....... my whole estate not divided of by this my Will, be equally divided amonst my six sons, JAMES EDMONDSON, JOSEPH EDMONDSON, WILLIAM EDMONDSON, BRYAN EDMONDSON, THOMAS EDMONDSON AND JOHN EDMONDSON and lastly I do hereby ordain and appoint my well beloved wife MARY EDMONDON and my beloved son JAMES EDMONSON Excrs of this my last Will proved Tuesday ye 20th day December 1715, this above Will of THOMAS EDMONDSON was submitted and proved by ye oaths of Mary Edmondson and James Edmondson, the Executors therein named who both agreed it to be all in the writing of ye sd Thomas Edmondson, dated and is recorded.
