Rose Mary Baumhefner
Jun. 10, 1935 - Jul. 20, 2017
Resident of Concord
Rose Mary Baumhefner (nee Slevin) passed away on 20 June 2017 in Concord, CA. She was born in San Francisco on 10 July 1935 to
John and Bridget Slevin (nee McHugh) from County Tyrone, Ireland.
Her siblings Jack (predeceased), Edmund and Virginia (predeceased) spent their formative years in Oakland, CA. Rose and her
first husband, Robert Guelld (predeceased), raised five children: Edmund, Mark (predeceased), Kevin, Kathy and Robert.
Her second husband was Warren Manley, and later in life she was married many wonderful years to Victor Baumhefner (predeceased).
Being Irish, she was surrounded by an army of uncles, aunts, cousins and a growing number of nephews, nieces, grandchildren,
grandnephews and great-grandchildren.
They were not only a source of pride but also of the things that come with an extended family: laughs, good craic and sorrows.
Her friends from St. Bernard's and St. Elizabeth's in Oakland were just as cherished. And her relationships from work and
neighbors had a trail from a Southern Pacific railroad station in Bakersfield to the communities of Contra Costa County.
She was quick to the wit and business savvy. She shared her love of music (Elvis to The Music Man). She shared family stories.
She shared her dreams and inner-thoughts. All of those things will be missed…but certainly not forgotten.
