Don R. Edwards 1924 ~ 2007 BICKNELL, UT - Our kind and beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother, Don Russell Edwards, age 83, of Bicknell, died March 21, 2007 in Provo, Utah, of complications from heart surgery. He was born February 8, 1924 in Loa, Utah a son of Russell Sylvester and Ida Mae Farnsworth Edwards. Don was raised in Lyman by Willis and Luzella Oldroyd. He graduated from Wayne High School, Class of 1942. He joined the Mer-chant Marines and served his country during World War II in the United States Coast Guard. Don married Lucile McClellan, February 3, 1947 in the Manti LDS Temple. They just celebrated 60 years of matrimonial bliss!!! Don was active in the LDS Church, serving as Young Mens president, Sunday School president, ward clerk and home teacher. He was a member of the Harold Brown American Legion Post #92 and the Wayne Riders Riding Club. He also served as president of Lyman Town Waterworks. Don was a rancher and farmer more than 57 years and he truly loved it! He is survived by his loving wife, Lucile, of Bicknell; children, Linda and Lee Myers of Billings, Montana, Cindy and Gary Ellett of Bicknell, Jeraldine and Wayne Grundy of Annabella, Stella and Steve Baker of St. George, Roy Don and Julie Edwards of Roy, Bobby and Debbie Edwards of Loa, Russell and Peri Edwards of St. George; 32 grandchildren; 49 great-grandchildren; 10 great great-grandchildren; sisters, Verla Mae Nielson of Fremont, Utahna Qjuigley of Salt Lake City; stepsister, Wilma Allred of Kanarraville. He was preceded in death by his parents; stepparents; step-brother, Vernon Oldroyd; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 27, 2007 at 1 p.m. in the Lyman LDS Ward chapel. Friends may call for viewing at the Springer Turner Funeral Home in Richfield, Monday evening from 6-8 p.m. or at the ward chapel in Lyman, Tuesday morning from 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. prior to the services. Burial, with military honors accorded by the Harold Brown American Legion Post #92, will be in the Loa Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield, Salina and Gunnison, Utah.
