SYRACUSE Douglas Lyman Lovell, 55, returned to his Heavenly Father on Tuesday, May 4, 2010.
Doug was born December 7, 1954 in Ogden, Utah, to Allen and Virginia Lyman Lovell. Doug married Barbara Simpson August 30, 1978 in the Salt Lake Temple.
He was a graduate of Clearfield High School.
Doug is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where he served in many callings over the years. He especially enjoyed serving as finance clerk and most recently as the High Priest Instructor. He served in the Arizona Tempe Mission.
Doug valued the relationships in his life. He cherished his family above all else. The numerous friends he made throughout his life were life long. He had a real love of music.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara, children: Jami Lynn (Dax) Williamson, Cristy Briseno, Joshua Allen (Jenni) Lovell, Nicholas, Mason, Tucker, Brandon William, and one grandchild, Jaxon. Also surviving are siblings JoAnn Smith, Dorothy Lovell (Helene), Kenneth (Jodie) Lovell, Robert (Carol) Lovell, David (Brenda) Lovell, step-sisters, Judy (Brent) Murray, Debbie (Bruce White), brother-in-law, Johnny (Carolyn) Swallow. Preceded in death by his parents, stepmother, Myrtle Lovell, sister, Lois Swallow, brother-in-law, Kent Smith, Step-sister, Linda Nelson.
The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Senekjian, Dr. Alder, the Dialysis professionals, and all the healthcare specialists that cared for Doug throughout his life.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, May 8, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at the Syracuse West Stake Center, 1600 South 4500 West, Syracuse. A viewing will be held on Friday, May 7th at Myers Roy Mortuary, 5865 South 1900 West, Roy from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. and on Saturday, May 8th at the Syracuse West Stake Center from 9:30 a.m. - 10:30 a.m. prior to services.
Interment, Syracuse City Cemetery.
