ARMSTRONG, Bruce - November 3, 1943 - September 5, 2004. Passed away peacefully in Melbourne after a long illness. Beloved son of George and Grace (both dec.). Loved nephew of Tom and Jean, Frank and Marjory, Russell and Marjory (all dec.), Lillian, Jean and Dorothy. Much loved brother of Robert. Much loved uncle and great uncle to Vivienne, Angela, Tobias and Kelsey. You fought a long and courageous battle Bruce. Your "never give up" attitude, so much a part of being an Armstrong, meant that we enjoyed many more years with you than they ever said we would. Your unending optimism was amazing, and gave us hope in times when there seemed little. Your continued interest in all our lives will be so sadly missed. Our only hope now is that you truly do rest in peace as nobody deserves it more after such a brave fight. To our dearest Tim, you know that Bruce loved you very much. He may not have shown it as much as he could have but trust us when we tell you how proud he was of you. You always have a home here in Tasmania with us and we hope to see much more of you. To dearest Barb, you are and will always be part of our family. Your strength and unerring support of Bruce throughout his illness were incredible and so greatly appreciated by us all. Our thoughts and love are with you both at this difficult time. Bruce, you shall never be forgotten. Rest in peace.
