WEDDING BELLS
DAWES-THOMPSON
On Saturduy afternoon, June 1, at thc
Ulverstone Methodist Church, thc mar-
riage ceremony was performed by Rev. A.
li. Medson, of Loris, twin daughter of
Mr, and Mrs, H. Thompson, of West Ul-
verstone, to Frank, third son oí Mr. and
Mrs. A. Dawes, of Lloyd street. As the
bride entered thc church on thc arm of
her father, Mrs. Tyson, of Devonport,
played the "Bridal March," and thc con-
gregation sang the hymn "0, Perfect
Love." The church was tastefully decoi -
ated by Mrs. G. Ellis, assisted by friends
of the bride.
The bride wore a cream figured «itin
frock. Tho bodice was gathered to a
wide corsclloted waistline. lt featured
a heart-shaped neckline. Tiny self-cov-
ered buttons adorned the back of the
frock, which formed a buBtlo effect and
drifted into a long circular train; The
long sleeves formed peaks over the hands.
For tho "Something Old," she fastened a
spray of orango blossom to the front 0/
her frock with a gold brooch that was
worn by her grandmother. A double
firing ot' pearls and earrings to match
were also worn. Over the under veil ol'
cut tullo was worn nu embossed veil ol
lino tulle, which was fastened to her hair
by a wreath ol' orango blossom and fran
gipani. The veils were loaned by Mis.
Tyson, the 'groom's Sister, and tho bride's
sister, who was matron of honor. Thc
bride knelt on a cream satin cushion made
to form a heart-shape, und worked With
horseshoes, true-lovers' knots and blue and
pink flowers, lt was loaned by Mrs. A.
Walker, of Riana.
The bride wan attended by her twin
sister, Miss June Thompson, as chief
bridesmaid and Mrs. R. Ling, of South
Burnie, as matron of honor. Their frocks
were of pink and blue crepe, mnde on
similar lines. Tho bodices were shirred
to form a fullness in front, and they were
fastened with covered buttons and loops
from neck to waist. Their bouquets were
in pink and mauve toning*, and consisted
of stocks, carnations, ncrincs and aspar-
agus fern. They also wore long white
kid gloves and crownlcss plcturo lints to
tone with thoir frocks. Their bouquets
and that of tho bride, which consisted of
pale pink carnations, stoclcB, roses and
maidenhair fem, tied with white salin
streamers, were mado and presented by
the bride's aunt, Mrs. A. L. Sliadbolt.
The bridegroom was attended by his
brother, Mr. Douglas Dawes, aa best man
and Mr. Ross Thompson as groomsman.
During the signing of the register Mr.
M. Dawes sang "I'll Walk Beside You."
Mr. Tom Dawes waa usher, and Mrs.
Tysou was organist. As tho bridal party
left the church silver horseshoes tied with
patin ribbon were hung on tho bride's
arm by her sister, Misa Nenn Thompson.
A reception was hold at the home of
Mrs. Yaxley, Main street. Tho three
tierod wedding cake, decorated in white
and silver with touches of pink by Mrs.
Allen, was a present to tho brido from
Mr, and Mrs. JJ. Gillnm. Mrs. Thomp-
son, tho bride's mother, received .the
guest« in n black frock, worn under a blue
coat, and 11 small black hat, trimmed with
veiling. A spray of pink carnations and
blue delphi ninnis was pinned lo her fur
choker. Mrs. Dawes, thc 'groom's mother,
wore a black frock under her black cont.
Her hat was of black felt, relieved with
red. Her spray was of led carnations
and asparagus fern.
When leaving for the honeymoon, which
was spent at Launceston and Wadda-
mana, tho bride wore a soft woollen frock
in aqua shade, relieved with red, under
a black coat. She also wore a small
black toque, tho brim being trimmed with
colored feathers and draped with veiling.
A spray of red and white carnations wart
pinned to the l..pol of her coat. Other
accessories were black. Tho bridogroomV
presents to the bridesmaids wero fountain
pons, and to the bride a Mckln diitiui
set. Tho brido's present to tho bride-
groom was a gold Bi'gnet ring.
Mr. and Mrs. DOWOB will reside at Ul-
verstone.

Wife of Frank (dec.) and loving mother and mother-in-law of Christopher, Judy, Phillip (dec.), Jan, and Pamela and Geoff Lynd. Adored nan of Zane, Tomoko, Samuel, Amy and Steve. Cherished great- grandmother of Coco, Milla and Gracie.

Daughter of the late Thomas and Beaulah Thompson. Sister and sister-in-law of May and Rob Ling, Johnny and Gwenneth Thompson, Gwen and Geoff Wood, Nene and Bill Greaves, Ross and Didge Thompson (all dec.), Bill and Vena Thompson and beloved twin sister of June and David Maxwell. Loving aunt of her nieces and nephews.
