NORRIS-HARRIS
On November 15 an early even-
ing wedding took place at the Me-
thodist Church, Barrington, between
Clyde, son of Mrs. Norris and the
late Mr. T. J. Norris, and Ruby
M., daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Allan
R. Harris, of Barrington. Rev. G.
N. Wheaton (Sheffield) performed
the ceremony. Miss Dulcie Ham-
mond was organist, and Mrs. Rex
Hammond sang "Song o£ Thanks-
giving."
Friends of the bride had decora-
ted the church with quantities of
pink flowering apple, stocks and
heuchera, pastel lupins, white lilac
and trails of blue perennial pea.
The bride, who was given away
by her father, wore a gown of soft
white cloque, the bodice gathered
to a centre panel and cut to a
peak front and back of the waist-
line. The low, sweetheart neck-
line was scalloped, and beaded in
clear crystals, and fitted long
sleeves formed peaks over the
hands. A tulle veil, lent by Mrs.
Herron (Launceston), was embroi-
dered in each corner with satin
lined tulips, and fell from a halo
of traditional orange blossom, back-
ed with scallop-edged white satin.
The bride's shower bouquet was
composed of white roses, scented
rhododendron and lily of the val-
ley, lightened with asparagus fern
and tied with white satin ribbon.
The white satin cushion, hand
painted with pink flowers, was lent
by Mrs. C. V. Sherriff.
Thc two bridesmaids, Miss Dulcie
Harris (the bride's sister) and Miss
Gwenda, Norris (the 'groom's sister)
wore identical frocks of pale pink
lace mounted over satin of deeper
pink. The sweetheart necklines
and fully puffed sleeves were finish-
ed with pink velvet bows, and softly
gathered bodices were peaked nu
the waistline above full skirts,
lightly gathered at thc back. Blue
and white flowers holding pink em-
broidered veils to the 'maids' hoads,
matched their trailing shower bou-
quets of pink and white rhododen-
drons and sweet peas with blue pe-
rennial pea, finished with long
pink satin ribbons. Pink lace mit-
tens to match their frocks were
worn, also the 'groom's gifts, blue
butterfly-wing pendants on fine gold
chains.
The flower girl was Doris Jones,
in a floor-length frock of pale blue
satin-backed crepe, with a smocked
waist. Thc rounded neck, scallop-
ed yoke and little putted sleeves
were edged with 'narrow self-frills,
and white lace mittens were worn.
Blue and white- flowers were arran-
ged in her hair, and she carried
a basket of pink and white daisies
and sweet peas with blue larkspurs.
The 'groom's gift, a tiny gold boo-
merang brooch set with a colored
stone, was worn. Mr. Leslie Nor-
ris, the 'groom's brother, and Mr.
John Harris, tho bride's brother,
were best man and groomsman
respectively. Thc ushers were Mr.
Baden Marshall and Master Brian
Harris.
A reception was held at the
Kiosk, Mersey Bluff, Devonport,
where 70 guests were entertained.
Thc tables were decorated with pink
roses and lily of the valley.
Mrs. Harris, the bride's mother,
wore a black frock beaded in grey
and red, with a black lightweight
coat and silver fox fur. White
flowers trimmed her black hat, and
a shoulder spray of rich red roses
was worn. Mrs. Norris, the bride-
groom's mother, chose a navy toi-
lette with a scarf of pastel blue
and pink tanings. Blue flowers
adorned her navy hat, and pink
roses made her shoulder spray.
When leaving for a month's hon-
eymoon tour of the mainland, the
bride whs wearing a frock of royal
blue heavy crepe under an embroi-
dered black coat with shaded pink
orchids pinned on one shoulder.
Her hal, and other accessories wer«
