Beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend William Lovell returned to his heavenly father January 10, 2012. He was born March 19, 1925 to Benjamin G. Lovell and Maria (Millie) McCardall in Leamington, Utah. On May 21, 1945 he married Edith Mae Vest. They were sealed in the Manti temple in 1963 and were happily married for 66 years. William served in the U.S. Navy on the U.S.S. New Jersey during WW2. In 1985 he retired from the Pacific Railroad after 42 years of employment. He served many LDS church callings including Bishopric, Scout Master, and 28 years as a stake and ward clerk. He enjoyed camping, being active, and spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by father, mother, 2 brothers, 3 sisters, and a son-in-law. Survived by wife, Edith; sister, Fern Willden; 4 children: Karla (Fred) Lowry, Tooele; William D. Lovell (Phyllis), Layton; Vesta Jacobs, Tooele; Lorna (Ty) Goodspeed, Syracuse; and 17 grandchildren, 51 great- grandchildren, 1 great, great-granddaughter, and many friends. He was a dedicated man and proud of his heritage and the long legacy he has left behind. He will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved him. Viewings will be held on Friday, January 13, 2012, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM and Saturday, January 14, 2012, from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at the Taylorsville 8th Ward, 1495 W. Tamarack (4630 South).
