Fingal.-Our correspondent writes : -
"The late Mr. James Bean, whose fune-
ral took place at Longford last week, was
a nephew of Mr. Robert Bean, of this
town, and I can well remember deceas-
ed as an accomplished oarsman, and un-
der the light blue flag of the South Esk
Rowing Club, the well-known pair, Bean
and Robinson, when seated in the Sur-
prise, were never beaten. The late Mr.
Bean was a very popular young fellow,
and the distressing affair of his death
must have caused a great shock to his re-
latives and friends.
