(previously of Kersland Mill, and said to be of Sidehouse Kers), she was born 27th June, 1798, and died 15th
April, 1859. Issue-

(a) Alexander, born 7th December, 1819, married Martha Leighton. Issue -
(A) Robert, died Calgary.

(2) William Ramsay was agent for Clydesdale Bank, Beith. He died 2nd October, 1868, aged 62 years, married Isabella
Wilson, daughter of Robert Wilson, merchant, Beith. Issue -

(a) Isabella Wardrop, married John Morrison, surgeon, Beith. Issue-
(A)William Ramsay Morrison.
(b) Janet Ker, married Dr. Galloway, Gateshead, Newcastle. Issue-

Chris, Thank you for taking the trouble to reply. I have since found out that Whang Street was the original name of what is now called Eglinton Street. I was lucky enough to be in Beith last Saturday and was hoping to view the house where my relatives lived however it is now a newsagent and sweetie shop apparently converted from two houses. Oh well thats progress for you. I did however pop into the library whilst I was there and the librarian was really helpful and they have copies of the inscriptions from the old cemetry where I was able to find a little more information, so all was not lost.

FAMILY RECORDS Compiled by Robert Reid 1912, Robert Ramsay Family Records In 1900 compiled the “Family Records ” of the Dunlops of Dunlop, Loanhead, Hapland, and Borland; the Boyds of Kilmarnock and Bonshaw; the Reids of Stacklawhill, Bonshaw, Muirhead, Knowhead, Balgray, and Borland ; the Fergusons of Auchintiber, Fulwood, Oldhall, Fairliecrevoch, and Borland, and cadets; the Kers of Kersland, Triorne, Auchingree, Gatend, and cadets; the Gilmours of Grange, Brownhills, Nethergrie, and cadets: the compilation being dedicated to Angela Georgina Bartlett, Baroness Burdett-Coutts, and Sir Andrew Lusk, Bart., they being the oldest then living members of the connection. The edition was limited to one hundred copies, all subscribed for. As the 1900 edition is out of print, and I have been repeatedly requested by members of the connection and others interested in such works to issue another edition, and to include the genealogies of other families connected with those Whose genealogies were given in the 1900 issue, I consented to do so; and now include the genealogies of such families as the Longmuirs, Grays, Maxwells, Rankins, Cunninghames, Fairries, Blairs, Neils and Ralstons, and cadets of same, to all of whom I am indebted for information freely given concemiug their respective families.
