GEORGE FRANCIS DIETHORN

George F.Diethorn,72,of 204 Otto St.,Belle Vernon,died at his home Saturday,Oct.23,1965,at 2:45 p.m. Mr.Diethorn had been chief clerk of Peoples Natural Gas Co. in Monessen until 1944. He then worked for Belle-Price Lumber Co. in Belle Vernon until retirement in 1958. Born in Pittsburgh on Sept. 27,1893,he had lived in the Belle Vernon area the past 50 years,coming to Belle Vernon from Pittsburgh. Mr.Diethorn was a member of St.Sebastian's Roman Catholic Church,Belle Vernon,Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 209,Belle Vernon,and was a past secretary of the Moose. Surviving are his widow,Teresa Funk Diethorn;four sons,George,Lionel,Walter,all of Belle Vernon and Dennis of Charleroi;three daughters,Mrs.James (Evelyn) McManus and Mrs.Joseph (Phyllis) Sabol,both of Belle Vernon,and Mrs.Joseph (Mildred) Allfree of Speers;three brothers,Joseph of Chicago,Ill.,Bernard of Monessen and Vincent of Belle Vernon,R.D.;five sisters,Mrs.Bernadette Kern of Pittsburgh,Mrs.Gladys Carney of Belle Vernon,Mrs.Margaret Reed of Clarksburg,W.Va.,Mrs.Mercedes Gann of Long Beach,Calif.,and Mrs. Mary Board of Monessen;twenty-two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Friends are being received at the Shelby D.ferguson Funeral Home,Belle Vernon,until time of service Tuesday,Oct.26,at 9:30 a.m. followed at 10 a.m. with requeim high mass in St.Sebastian's R.C.Church,Belle Vernon. The Rev.Martin J.O'Toole,pastor,will officiate. Interment,Belle Vernon Cemetery. Shelby D.Ferguson,funeral director.
