George Peter Knecht and family emigrated from Reihen, Germany, 6920 Sinsheim, Elsenz, Germany. They came to America ot the port of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on September 21, 1732 aboard the ship "Pink Plaisance", JohnParet, Captain in Skippach and Lower Saucon Township, Northampton County, PA He was naturalized in Philadelphia on September 24, 1747.
According to his Last Will and Testament he was a shoemaker and owned approximately 125 acres.

The Last Will and Testament of Peter Knecht
In the name of God Amen, I Peter Knecht of the Township of Lour Saucon, County of Northampton and Province of Pennsylvania, Shoemaker, being at present in Midling good helth Thanks be to God for the same Do this Third Day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and seventy make and publish this my Last Will and Testament in manner following that is to say. First of all I recomend my soul into the Hand of AlmightyGod who gave it and my body tot he Earth to be buried in a christian like and descent mannor at the disonection of my Executors herin after named, and as to my worldly affairs I will and dispose of the same as followeth that is to say----
Imprimes it is my will and I give and bequeth unto my eldest son mainly Georgehenry---Five Pounds over and above an ekwill shear with the rest ofmy children and nomore. That is to say: I give and bequeth unto my four children as namely Georgehenry, Ulrich, Lenhard and Annabarbara (Heller) the wife of Detrich Heller, each of them to have shear and shears alike---excepting the heartofore menchined five Pounds---That is to say I give and bequeth unto them and each of them, one Hundred Pounds within six months next after my diseas/ Item--Item I give unto my Dear and well BelovedWife AnnaChristina, my Bed with all hits farneture-one cow tow sheep a little (______)? one Iron Pott two Beakons two plates one tancard and six Puter Spoons/ one chist and all my spinning flax and hemp I have at the time of my deseas and ten ushills of wheat and ten Bushills of Righ and fifty pounds of meat and what or sutch of my books she shall chuse and she shall have the choice of all the among those heartofore menchined artickils/ and sh shall have the Third Part of all my Moveble estate after eachof my childron haveing receved one Hondred Pounds each. The most of themhaveing received the graterst part alredy---Also I give unto my hertofore menchined childron all that Tenement Improvement an a tract of Land that I now live on, shear and shear alike and like wise my moveble efects goods and chattls to be Ekewiley devided among my above mentioned childron shear and shear alike---
Georgehenry and Lenhard Knecht to be the Executors of this my Last Will and Testament/ and I impower my said Executors to sell my Land Improvement with all my Right Title and Interst thereon belonging unto me/ Containing one Hondred and Twenty five acars or there abouts be the same moreor less---
Joining Lands of Rudolph Oberly Mikel Lutts and others/ Hereby desireingmy Said Executors to Pay all my Just Debts and funeral chearges and Likewise to Collect and Receive all Debts due unto me---
And I do hearby revoke all other and former Wills and testaments by me anywise heartofore made/ Hearby Rotephing and Declearing This and no otherto be my Last Will and Testament whereof I have herarunto set my hand and seat and Day and year above written---

Anna Christina, daughter, born about 1705 in Baden, The Palatinate. Anna Christina was married 22 Jun 1736 in Skippack, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to George Peter Knecht.

Christina and George Peter settled first in the area where she was raised, now northern Montgomery county, then later in Lower Saucon township, Upper Bucks county (now Northampton), where her uncle Hans George was by then located. Their descendants can be found buried in both of those areas. Their sons Hans Leonard and Ulrich married sisters Margaret and Maria Catharina Schlauch, daughters of Anna Margaretha Hertzel, Anna Christina's cousin.

 

  The two children of George Peter and Anna Christina (Hirtzel) Knecht:

Hans Leonard, son, born 18 Jan 1737. Hans Leonard was married 1 Jan 1760 to Margaret Schlauch {born 9 May 1739, daughter of Philip and Anna Margaretha (Hertzel) Schlauch and died 20 Apr 1810}. Margaret and her sister Maria Catharina married brothers. She and Hans Leonard had six children, Maria Margaret, Christine, Clara Catharine, Sarah, John, and Anna Dorothea born 1760 through 1779.

Ulrich, son, born 18 Feb 1738 and died 26 Feb 1818. Ulrich was married 17 Jul 1759 to Maria Catharina Schlauch {born 13 Feb 1741, daughter of Philip and Anna Margaretha (Hertzel) Schlauch, baptised 5 Apr 1741, died 27 Jul 1781}. Maria Catharina and Ulrich had nine children, Maria Margaret, Barbara, Catharina, Philip Daniel, John, Elizabeth, John George, Jonathan, and Christian, born 1760 through 1780.
