Funeral service for Ernest Paxton “E. P.” Kittrell, age 91, of Tipton, Oklahoma, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, July 9, 2007, at the First Baptist Church, Tipton, with Rev. Harold Gaches, pastor, and Bro. Tony Fox, grandson, officiating.Mr. Kittrell passed away Friday, July 6, 2007, at his home in Tipton, Oklahoma.Burial with Naval Military Honors will be in the Tipton Municipal Cemetery under the direction of the Tipton Funeral Home, of Tipton, Oklahoma.He was born June 11, 1916, at Marietta, Oklahoma, to James Daniel “J. D.” and Mary Elizabeth (Culbreath) Kittrell. His family moved from Marietta to Davidson in 1922, to farm. He was united in marriage to Ollie “Marie” Milligan on October 10, 1936, in Frederick, Oklahoma. They settled in Tipton and he began farming in the Tipton and Snyder areas. In 1940, they moved to California where he worked in the shipyards. In 1942, he was drafted in to the United States Navy where he served honorably during WW II. He was trained in San Diego and immediately sent to Pearl Harbor just after its bombing. After his military service, he returned to Tipton where he owned and operated E. P. Kittrell Trucking Company. He loved gardening and yard work. He was a member of the Tipton First Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, eight brothers, five sisters, and a son-in-law: Clyde “Dick” Pierce.Survivors include his wife: Marie, of the home in Tipton, Oklahoma; two daughters: Shirley Fox and husband Arthur, of Tipton, Oklahoma, and Barbara Pierce, of Tipton, Oklahoma; a son: Ernest Ray Kittrell and wife Linda, of Tipton, Oklahoma; 12 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be sent to the Tipton First Baptist Church, P. O. Box 170, Tipton, OK 73570, in loving memory of Ernest “E. P.” Kittrell.

TIPTON Okla. - Ernest Paxton "E. P." Kittrell, 91, died Friday, July 6, 2007, at his home in Tipton. He was born 11 June 1916 in Marietta, Love County Oklahoma.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, July 9, 2007, at the First Baptist Church, Tipton, with Rev. Harold Gaches, and Bro. Tony Fox, grandson, officiating. Burial with Naval Military Honors will be in the Tipton Municipal Cemetery under the direction of the Tipton Funeral Home, of Tipton.
Mr. Kittrell served honorably in the U.S. Navy during WW II. He owned and operated E. P. Kittrell Trucking Company in Tipton.
Survivors include his wife, Marie, of the home; two daughters, Shirley Fox and Barbara Pierce; and a son, Ernest Ray Kittrell all of Tipton, Okla.; 12 grandchildren; 13 great- grandchildren; and four great- great-grandchildren.
