Obituary
Margie Kittrell of McGregor died suddenly Thursday night, August 16, 2012, at the age of 79. Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, August 21, 2012, at Cole Funeral Home Chapel, 1113 West Fifth Street, McGregor with Rev. David Thompson officiating. Interment will follow in Moody Cemetery. Visitation will be 6 to 8 P.M. Monday at Cole Funeral Home. Mrs. Kittrell was born August 28, 1932, in Gainesville, Texas, the daughter of the late Fred and Lillie Jo (Andrews) Teague. Margie graduated from Hewitt High School and received her Associates Degree from McLennan Community College and attended the University of Mary Hardin Baylor. ...

Margie graduated from Hewitt High School and received her Associates Degree from McLennan Community College and attended the University of Mary Hardin Baylor. In earlier years, she taught private kindergarten in her home and later in the McGregor Public School System from 1960 until her retirement in 1996. She was also employed by The McGregor Police Department as a dispatcher, a clerk at Evers Corner Drug and a receptionist at Cole Funeral Home. She also assisted her husband as a bookkeeper with Kittrell & Associate Land Surveyors. On September 14, 1948, she married Billy Weldon Kittrell in Waco, Texas. After fifty-five years of marriage, he preceded her in death November 29, 2003. Margie was baptized in Harris Creek in 1950 and became a member of Harris Creek Baptist Church. She later moved her letter and became an active member of College Avenue Baptist Church where she was a member of the Ruth Class, taught Sunday School for more than 25 years and assisted with Vacation Bible School. Margie was active in the McGregor community as a past president of the PTA and past Matron of the Order of The Eastern Star and was a member of the Brazos Valley Cloggers. She has enjoyed camping, traveling, crosstitching, clogging and dancing.Survivors include two sons, Jack Weldon Kittrell of Austin, Michael Alan Kittrell of Waco; a daughter, Rhonda Kay Kittrell of Waco; a brother, Joe Edwin Tubbs of Hemet, California; a sister, Searcy Prichard of Garland; two grandchildren, Meghan Louise Kittrell and Jordan Taylor Kittrell.The family would like to extend their appreciation to Dr. Charles Stern, Dr. Charles Shoultz, Dr. Allen Nichols, Dr. Carlos Encarnacion and the staff and nurses at Providence Health Center for their excellent care of Margie.
