LAKE CITY - Frances Derham Brown died Saturday, Jan. 29, 2000, at homeafter an illness.
She was born in Green Sea, a daughter of the late Joseph Henry andVeronica Mills Derham.
She was a graduate of Green Sea High School and Columbia College. Shetaught school in Bishopville, Loris and Lake City. She also worked forFlorence County Department of Social Services and in the office of theSouth Carolina Attorney General. She was a member of Lake City FirstBaptist Church and Lake City Junior Sorosis Club.
Survivors include her husband, Wilbur B. Brown; a son, W. Boyd Brown Jr.and his wife, Lisa, of Myrtle Beach; a daughter, Mary Frances Brown Welchof Charleston; and a grandson, Joshua B. Brown of Myrtle Beach.
She was predeceased by a brother, Joseph Henry Derham III of Green Sea;and a sister, Loula Derham Looper of Florence.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 tonight at Brockington Funeral Home inLake City.
The funeral will be at 2:30 p.m. Monday at Lake City First BaptistChurch. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
