By Writ of Summons, dated 25 January, 1340 (sic).
Lineage.
WILLIAM LE BLUND or BLOUNT (eldest son of Sir Walter LE BLOUNT, of Rock, by Joanna his wife, sister and heir of Sir William DE SODINGTON (...[See post on BLOUNT--BARONS MOUNTJOY]), having m. in the 2nd EDWARD III., Margaret, one of the daus. and co-heiresses of Theobald DE VERDON, Lord Justice of Ireland, obtained a livery of the castle of Weobley, co. Hereford, with divers other lands and lordships, as her portion of the inheritance, and was summoned to parliament as a BARON, from 25 Januray, 1330, to 18 August, 1337. His lordship had a command in the Scottish wars in the 9th EDWARD III. He d. in 1337, and leaving no issue, the BARONY OF BLOUNT EXPIRED, while his lordship's estates devolved upon his brother and heir, John BLOUNT, of Sodington, co. Worcester, from whom descend the PRESENT BARONETS (BLOUNT) of Sodington.
