Mustered in as Corporal, but was reduced to ranksprior to September 1, 1861. Present or accounted for until wounded andcaptured at Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, July 3, 1863. Confined at FortDelaware, Delaware, until paroled and transferred to City Point,Virginia, where he was received August 1, 1863, for exchange. Returnedto duty in September 1863-February 1864, and was promoted to Corporal inJanuary-February, 1864. Present or accounted for through February, 1865."
