OXFORD -- William T. "Billy" Hight, 77, of 102 Pine Cone Drive died Saturday, June 21, 2003, at Duke University Medical Center. He was a Granville County native and the son of the late William T. and Maude Wrenn Hight.
He was a member of Oxford United Methodist Church, attended East Carolina University and was a graduate of the Watchmaker School in Greensboro. He was owner of Hight Jewelry of Henderson, a Navy veteran of World War II, a member of Oxford Masonic Lodge 122 A.F. & A.M., and a member of the Sudan Shrine Temple of New Bern.
Funeral services will be conducted at 4 p.m. Monday at Oxford United Methodist Church by the Rev. Denny C. Wise. Burial will follow in Enon Baptist Church Cemetery.
Surviving are his wife, Lois Hester Hight; one daughter, Margaret H. Ivey of Oxford; one son, Dr. William T. Hight III of Carrollton, Ga.; one sister, Carolina H. Jones of Thomasville; and three grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Sudan Shriners Children Hospital Fund, P.O. Drawer 490, New Bern, N.C. 28563-0490; Oxford Methodist Church, P.O. Box 757, Oxford, N.C. 27565; or a charity of choice.
Visitation for the family will be held from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today at Gentry-Newell & Vaughan Funeral Home, 503 College St. in Oxford, and other times at the home.
