Herman Lawrence Dick, age 78, of Williamsport, Pennsylvania, formerly of Somerset, departed this life on Tuesday, January 27, 2015. Herman was born in Somerset, on October 9, 1936, to the late Carl and Alma Vaughn Dick. He resided in Somerset until 2010, when he moved to Williamsport to be with his children. Herman made his living as a truck driver. His wife, Dorothy Yvonne Rogers preceded him in death. He was a very caring man who would help anyone and made many friends throughout his life. One of Herman’s greatest joys, which he took much pride in, is his children. Herman is survived by his son, Lawrence Gene, and his girls, Jo Ann, Debbie Sue (Chris Potter), and Treasa Lynn (James DeSanto). He leaves behind nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. In addition to many nieces and nephews, he also leaves behind a very special niece, Dina Burgin, and a very special nephew, Glen Dick. He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife; and all of his siblings. His brothers: Harold, Verthel, Velber, Wilbur, Robert and Lowell Gene; and his sisters: Merlene, Verdina and Faustine. Visitation will be on Saturday, January 31, 2015, from 12:00 noon until 1:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow the visitation at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home chapel with Bro. Gilbert Robinson officiating. Interment will be in Chesterview Cemetery, in Nancy.
