Mrs. Betty Hawkins Crawford, 70, of 703 Groves St., died Dec. 18, 2003, at home.
She was a native of Cleveland County, the daughter of the late Preston Audie and Nettie Pearson Hawkins and the wife of the late Robert Louis Crawford. She was a homemaker and retired secretary for the late Warren E. Reynolds. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Kings Mountain.
She is survived by two daughters, Catherine Crawford of Kings Mountain (a teacher for Kings Mountain District Schools at West Elementary School, formerly at East Elementary) and Pam Crawford and husband, Wynn, of Kings Mountain; a granddaughter, Carmen Ann “Annie” Crawford of Kings Mountain; a brother, Tommy Hawkins and wife, Kay, of Kings Mountain; four sisters, Peggy Davis of Kings Mountain, Myra Hagans and husband, Tom, of Kings Mountain and Lois Ellis and husband, Don, of Grover and Linda Tignor of Shelby; three brothers-in-law, Don Crawford of Kings Mountain, Jim Crawford of Shreveport, La., and Don Bumgardner of Kings Mountain; 11 nephews, eight nieces, 12 greatnephews and six greatnieces.
A memorial service will be Sunday at 3 p.m. at Grace United Methodist Church, with the Revs. Dale Swofford and John Heath officiating.
A graveside service will be Sunday at 8 a.m. at Mountain Rest Cemetery, Kings Mountain.
