Barnett's Eng /Scot/Ire/USA.The BARNETT'S in COUNTY DOWN, ULSTER PROVINCE, NORTHERN IRELAND.William Barnett, his wife and three sons, William, John, Thomas Barnett, emigrated from County Down, Ulster Provincem, Northern Ireland to the United States. They landed at the Port of Philadelphia in abt 1736.They soon sent down the Shennadough Valley, finially making their way to Mecklenburgh Co. N C. in abt 1740.Their home was near where Charlotte, N C now is. The Spratt family came with the Barnett family to the USA.William Barnett Sr. b 1690; D _______ mar. to Mary Merriweather.( this imfo was found on a scrap of paper in a book by Mr. Harry Asbury. of Tampa, Fl. Down N Irer. to USA. No data whom he mar., his birth or death is known with this imfo.William Barnett brought with him three sons,\William Barnett Jr,John Barnett,and Thomas Barnett. Thomas Barnett isnthe line of Ancestry of the Barnett's of York Co SC.Thomas Barnett b in Co. Down, Ulster Province N. Ier.It is thoughtn that hjis family landed at Port of Philadelphia, PA. and from there went to Lancaster, Pa. along with other immigrants, around 1736. After "Bradock's Defeat" they joined a stream of emmigrants southward through the Shenedoah Valley. Finially they made their way to a settlement on Rocky River, now Cabarrus Co. N C. Because of Indian depredation they soon moved to what is now Charleotte, N C. This abt in 1740.The tree sons of William Barentt mar three dau's of Thomas Spratt and Mary Clark who emmigrated to USA from N Ire. abt yr 1731, along with William Barnett SR and family.William Barnett JT b 1715 Co,. Down Ul Prov. N Ire. d 1778 in Charlotte, N C mar Mary Spratt abt 1739.John Barnett b 1717 d 1804 mar . Ann Spratt.Thomas Barnett b 1720, mar Martha Spratt. ( They settled in Mechlenburgh Co NC near where Charlotte, N C now is, abt yr 1740.end of Sec 1 page 3... Next; William Barnett Sr. b 1690.(NOTE...
