Samuel Owen is mentioned in a letter written by Granville Owens(1866-1941)
on 7 March 1938, as having been a son of David Owen and that he died atthe
age of 21 unmarried. Samuel also served in the 11th Regiment, Kentucky
Mounted Volunteers, Johnston Dysart's Company, during the War of 1812. Heis
also listed in the Revolutionary War Pension Records as being David's son.
Research by Danny Hoffman indicates he married 8-24-1813, ElizabethPoston.
He may have died after obtaining a marriage license and before marriage.?
