The first GRANTHAM to enter MS was Richard GRANTHAM, Jr. who, with his wife and children, migrated from North Carolina. They settled in Perry County, MS In about 1824-25. Richard purchased land very near Runnelstown In 1828. One of his sons, Daniel, moved to Forrest County to marry and raise his family. Another son, William, moved north fiveor six miles into Jones County and settled. William married Cynthia BARLOW, Lydia's sister, and moved to Jasper County and settled near Stringer.
