Marvin Thomas Antley, 81, of 526 Banning St., Cope, died Sunday, June 26, 2005, at the Bamberg Nursing Center.Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 28, at Canaan Baptist Church, Canaan Community in Cope, with the Revs. Odell Breland, Charles Bradley, and Jimmy Sanders officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.The casket will be placed in the church one hour before the service.Active pallbearers will be Tony Kittrell, Donnie Kittrell, Allen Antley, Gene Antley, Jerry Antley and Ricky Antley.Honorary pallbearers will be the Senior Adult Sunday School class.Mr. Antley was born September 8, 1923, in Orangeburg County, a son of the late Williams Abraham Antley and the late Pearl Blitchington Antley. He was a member of Canaan Baptist Church. He served in the United States Army and was a veteran of World War II. He was retired from Sanders Supply and he was a farmer. He was preceded in death by two brothers, James Willie Antley and Jack Wimberly Antley, and one sister, Minnie Lee Antley.Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Ehrlist Hutto Zorn Antley, of Barnwell; two sisters, Mrs. R. H. (Whilimena) McAlhaney, of Hartwell, Ga., and Mrs. Harold (Hazel) Kittrell, of Orangeburg; one sister-in-law, Dorothy Antley; five stepchildren, David Zorn, Avery Zorn, Mrs. Steve (Karen) Creech, Elaine Hewitt, and Sherman Lane; a number of nieces and nephews.Friends may call at the funeral home.Visitation will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at Thompson Funeral Home of Orangeburg.Memorials may be made to Canaan Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 4977 Cannon Bridge Road, Cope SC 29038, or to Bamberg Nursing Center, 600 North St., Bamberg SC 29003 or to a charity of one's choice.
