April 30th, at her residence, in Sumter District, at the advanced age of 80 years, Mrs. Elizabeth ENGLISH, relict of the late Mr. Robert ENGLISH.
April 29th, in Lancaster, Rev. Archibald MCDOWELL, in the 80th year of his age.
April 29th, at her residence, in Abbeville District, Mrs. F. E. H. WITHERSPOON, relict of the late Col. James H. WITHERSPOON, of Lancasterville. She was a native of James Island, near Charleston, but removed with her first husband, Dr. Wm. MCCAW, soon after their marriage, to the place where she died, and where she spent most of her life.
April 27th, in due West, Lelia Rosalie, youngest child of Dr. E. E. and Mrs. Mary PRESSLY. It was a little over a year old.
April 25th, in Kershaw District, Mr. Thomas DURIN, aged 72 years.
April 24th, in Spartanburg, Theodore Lawrence, son of Mr. Henry J. and Mrs. Anne Eliza MOUZON, aged 2 years, 8 months and 13 days.
April 23d, at Spartanburg, Mrs. Ella L. BLAKE, wife of Prof. Wm. K. BLAKE, and daughter of the late Mr. Wm. L. HAWLEY, all formerly of Fayetteville, N.C.
April 20th, near Bennettsville, Mrs. Ann HODGES, wife of Uriah HODGES, Esq., in the 52d year of her age.
April 19th, Newton Kennedy, youngest son of Mr. H. E. L. PEEBLES, of Sumter, aged 2 years and 8 months.
April 18th, in Camden, Miss Sarah Kirkland, third daughter of the late Rev. John R. JOY, in her 18th year.
April 18th, in Bethel, York District, S.C., at the residence of Mr. Joseph ADAMS, Mrs. Jane M. MCLEAN, wife of Gen. R. D. S. MCLEAN, deceased, aged 53 years.
April 18th, in Chester District, Mr. Wm. A. MOORE, of Typhoid Fever, aged about 38 years.
April 18th, at Campo Bello, near Pendleton village, Colin, eldest son of Mr. Archibald C. CAMPBELL, aged 20 years, 9 months and 18 days.
April 17th, Maria Adelaide, only child of Mr. Walter and Mrs. Catherine STANNERS, of Georgetown, aged 10months and 26 days.
April 17th, in Edgefield District, Mr. James VAUGHN, in the 57th year of his age.
April 16th, in the 59th year of his age, Mr. George BRISTOW, Sr. he was born in Granville County, N.C., but removed in his early boyhood, with his parents, to Marlboro' District, where he resided until his death. He was a soldier in the war of 1812, and served as a sergeant in his company. His honesty and probity in all his relations and transactions of life secured him the respect and confidence of all who knew him. He twice filled the office of Sheriff of the District, and once the office of Clerk of the Court.
April 15th, in Robertville, Ada Jacqueline, infant daughter of Mr. John G. and Mrs. Cornelia E. WILLIAMS.
April 15th, in Newberry, Mrs. Maria Elizabeth PASINGER, aged 95 years, 8 months and 12 days. She had eight children, four of whom are dead. Mrs. P. had, the day of her death, 49 grand and 125 great grand children.
April 12th, at his residence in Chester District, Mr. Andrew BURNS, in the 37th year of his age.
April 11th, at his residence on Fishing Creek, Chester District, Mr. John CHERRY, aged about 50 years.
April 10th, in York District, Mr. Jesse K. ARMSTRONG, in the 63d year of his age.
April 10th, at Silver Hill, St. Peter's Parish, Julia R., daughter of Mr. William and Mrs. Eleanor HADWIN, aged 3 years and 6 months.

April 6th, at the residence of Dr. W. J. BOBO, in Panola county, Mississippi, James Law BROWN, M.D. The deceased was an only surviving son of Mr. Samuel and Mrs. Margaret BROWN, and was born in March, 1826, at Long Lane - the family residence - in Newberry District. He was married first in 1850, to Miss Rebecca, daughter of Dr. G. W. GLENN, who died in November, 1853, and by whom he left two surviving children, Richard and Glenn. His second marriage, with Miss Anne, eldest daughter of Dr. W. J. BOBO of Union District, occurred in May, 1855. By this marriage he also leaves two children, a son and a daughter.

April 4th, in Quincy, Fla., at the residence of his son in law, Thomas D. WILSON, Esq., Henry SMITH, Esq., born in Richland District, in 1761.
April 4th, at the residence of her son, Mr. Reuben COOPER, in Russell county, Alabama, Mrs. Martha COOPER, relict of the late Mr. Cammel COOPER, in the 75th year of her age.
April 4th, Mr. John KENNEDY, in the 71st year of his age.
April 4th, at the Poor House, in Abbeville, Mr. Thomas GILLESPIE, in his 91st year.
April 1st, near Dacusville, in Pickens District, Mrs. Mary LOOPER, wife of Mr. Jeremiah LOOPER, sr., in her 78th year.
March 25th, Thomas ROSS, late of Wakulla county, near Richmond, Texas, in the 55th year of his age. The deceased was a native of Edgefield District, and removed to Florida in the year 1829, where he has since resided until within a few months past, when he emigrated to Texas, where he has so soon found a grave.
March 23d, at his residence in Monroe county, Arkansas, Mr. John COMPTON, about 37 years of age. Mr. COMPTON, from boyhood was a true friend, an honest man, and a good citizen. He was born and raised in Laurens District, and removed to Arkansas in the fall of 1856.
March 15th, at his residence in Micanopy, Florida, Rev. Wm. EDWARDS, of the Florida Conference. He was a native of South Carolina, and 37 years of age.
March 14th, in Effingham, Ga., Mrs. Matilda, wife of Rev. Thomas JORDAN, and daughter of the late Dr. SAUSSY, f Savannah. She was a native of south Carolina. Rating:
