Thomas Kennedy was the son of James and Ann Kennedy and the brother of Henry Kennedy who settled in Lumpkin and Dawson Counties.
Thomas was one of the original settlers in DeKalb County and was present there before 1830.
Thomas's wife, Margaret Macomson, was the daughter of John Macomson and Mary Stewart. John Macomson, b. 2-15-1760 in Ireland was a Revolutionary War Soldier. Margaret's parents and brother came to Georgia probably at the same time that Thomas and Margaret did. John Macomson died 1-15-1843 and he and Mary and their son are buried on Cascade Ave., in Atlanta.
The part of DeKalb County where Tomas built his home became Fulton County in 1853, and is today part of the city of Atlanta.
The Kennedy Family Cemetery is located on the Sandtown Road, Land Lot #10, 14th District, Fulton county, Poole's District.
