Dr. Hugh Madison Ross
Dr. Hugh Madison Ross, the son of Major Hugh Madison Ross and Lydia (Moore) Ross, was born 12 July 1886, died 14 March 1943. He received his M.D. degree from South Carolina Medical College in 1911 and practiced medicine in Chester, South Carolina for 32 years.
He served as captain in Medical Corps of U. S. Army and was with the AEF in France from October 1917 to October 1919. He was commander of James Hemphill Post, American Legion in 1932-33. He was a member of the Ancient Arabic Order of the Mystic Shrine.
Dr. Ross was married to Pauline Eaton Ross, daughter of James Pinckeny and Margaret (Wheeler ) Eaton. She was born 22 November 1887, died 29 July 1972.
The Rosses had one daugher, Margaret Wheeler Ross.
Both Dr. and Mrs. Ross are buried in Evergreen Cemetery, Chester, Chester County, South Carolina. Submitted by Ann P. Collins.
