LORIS | Lewis T. West, 90, of the Mount Vernon community, died Thursday,Jan. 9, 2003, at the Loris Extended Care facility after an illness.
He was born May 9, 1912, in Loris, a son of the late Thomas Turner Westand the late Nancy Jane Todd West.
He was a member of the Mount Vernon Baptist Church, the Woodmen of theWorld and was a retired tobacco farmer.
Survivors include his wife, Gracie Goff West, of Loris; a son, John "J.T." West of Loris; three daughters, Myrtle W. Page of Clarkton, N.C.,Venise W. Vaught and Geneva King Doyle, both of Loris; a half-brother,Thomas West of Pensacola, Fla.; three half-sisters, Iree Grainger ofTabor City, N.C., Nina Cox of Loris and Maggie Sullivan of Selma, N.C.;14 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and eightgreat-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 7 to 9 tonight at Hardwick Funeral Home of Loris.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Mount Vernon BaptistChurch. Burial will be in Twin City Memorial Gardens. The Rev. EarlElvis, the Rev. Bill Thompson and the Rev. Lonnie Johnson will officiate.
