In the Vestry Book of Christ Church Parish of Middlesex Co. Zebulon Shilton (sic) 1733 is fined 500 lbs. of Tobacco to John Curtis for the use of the Parish?  A Zebulon Shelton in Westmoreland Co., VA Militia 1733.  Zebulon in Hanover Co., VA 1734; Pittsylvania Co., VA 1772.  He died intestate Henry Co., VA Jan 1777.  His probate record is the first entry in the Henry Co., VA WB 1-1.  No heirs are listed, apparently all deceased?  A John Shelton was Administrator of his estate and James Shelton was his security.  No known family connection, possible cousins?  Zebulon's estate consisted of only a couple of horses and a saddle, with the value of £75.  Wife Mary died 07 Mar 1743, Middlesex Co., VA.

Zebulon mentioned in the will of John Bouncher, St Paul's Parish Record of Hanover Co., VA; was given "his aparell (sic)".  (Wm & Mary series 1, vol 21, pp. 49)

Letter from Patrick to Neil; 06 Feb 1998;

Neil,     In one of your email you mentioned a Deed record 1719, DB 3, p.494 that concerned Zebulon and Thomas Chilton.  I do have that record and it is as follows: " KNOW ALL MEN by these presents that wee ABIGAL CHILTON, Thomas CHILTON and ZEBULON CHILTON  of Middlesex County are bound unto ROGER JONES gent first in Commission of the peace for said county in sum of one hundred pounds Sterl. this 2d day of june 1719. The condition of this obligation is such that if Abigal Chilton Executrix of the last Will and Testament of PETER CHILTON decd do make a true inventory of said deced Estate and exhibit the same in County Court when required and truly administer according to Law and make a true account of her actings and doings therein and truly pay the Legacys that then this obligation to be voyd and otherwise to remain.     Abigal  (mark) Chilton Thos (mark) Chilton  Zebulon (mark) Chilton

At a Court held for Middlesex County the 2nd day of June 1719 This bond was presented in Court and admitted to record.  ".

I wish I could show Abigal's mark , looks like " oZ " with the Z connected to the bottom of the o.  Thomas mark was just a " M ", Zebulon's mark looking like the side view of a rocking chair without the back,  showing the arm of the rocker, two uprights and a bottom rocker which is curved, and the seat between the two uprights.  Clear as mud, huh?.  No mention of Wm.  However, Order Bk 6 p. 122  4 Aug 1724  " William Chilton, one of the legatees of Peter Chilton, dec'd , against Robert Holderness  & Abgiall Holderness his wife, Thomas Chilton & Zebulon Chilton, executors of Peter Chilton dec'd ".  Have no idea what this was about or what happened.  It does show that Wm, Thomas, and Zebulon were still in Middlx Co. 1724.  I lose Thomas after this and find Zebulon still in Middlx Co. 1733  where he is finded 500 lbs of Tobacco to John Curtis  for the use of the Parish. He is in Westmoreland Co Militia also 1733. Hanover Co. 1734, Pittsylvania Co. 1772, and dies Henry Co. VA 1777. Patrick
