Died at the Age of 103 years.
Mrs. SUSAN DE LA MONTANYE, who is said to have been 103 years old, died of
pneumonia at the Baptist Home for the Aged, on E. 68th street, early yesterday morning. She had been confined to bed for several months and was attacked by the
disease ten days ago.
Mrs. De La Montanye was born in Merrimac, N. H. in 1787 and was married to John
De La Montanye in 1808. Her maiden name was Hassell. The couple came to New
York shortly after their marriage and Mr. De La Montanye established a mercantile
business in which he made considerable money. He lost it later, however, and died
in 1869. Mrs. De La Montanye then entered the Baptist Home.
