MONTANYE -- On Tuesday, April 28, 1992, Richard D. Montanye of Glen Avenue, Scotia. Beloved husband of Clara F. Johnson Montanye. Son of Anna Montanye of Gloversville. Father of Mrs. David (Linda) Snyder of Frankfurt, Germany, Kurt Montanye of Saratoga Springs, Mrs. John (Amy) Adam of Hampton, Virginia, and Theresa Montanye of Albany. Father-in-law of Gabrielle Montanye of Saratoga. Grandfather of Shannon and Mason Snyder, Audra and Richard Adam, and Taylor Montanye. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Funeral services to be held Friday, 8:15 A.M. from the Glenville Funeral Home, 9 Glenridge Road. Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph's Church, Scotia, at 9 A.M. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend and may also call at the Glenville Funeral Home, Thursday 7 to 9 P.M. Interment, Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery, Niskayuna. RICHARD MONTANYE, DESIGNER FOR GE, NATIONAL GUARD OFFICER
Scotia -- Richard D. Montanye, 58 of Glen Avenue, died Tuesday at Ellis Hospital in Schenectady after a short illness.
Mr. Montanye was a 1951 graduate of Gloversville High School and also from the General Electric Apprentice Programl He lived in Scotia since 1956.
Mr. Montanye worked for the General Electric Co. in Schenectady for over 40 years as a senior designer & draftsman in the large motors and generators department.
He served as a first lieutenant with the National Guard.
Mr. Montanye was the recipient of the GE 40-year pin and served as past secretary and treasurer of the Iroquois Rod & Gun Club.
He was a communicant of St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church and formerly served as president of its Holy Names Society and as chairman of the parish council.
Survivors include his wife of 37 years, Clare Johnson Montanye, a son, Kurt Montanye of Saratoga Springs; three daughters, Linda Snyder of Frankfort, Germany, Amy Adam of Hampton, VA, and Theresa Montanye of Albany; his mother, Anna Montanye of Gloversville, and five grandchildren.
Burial will be in the Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery, Niskayuna. Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
