MRS. THOMAS RYAN, WEALTHY WIDOW, DIES
Lynchburg, VA., July 3---Mrs. Thomas Fortune Ryan, 78 year old widow of one of the nation's leading financiers, died at Oak Ridge, her Virginia estate, late last night, after being stricken with a heart attack.
CUYLER--LORD. The wedding of Mrs. May Nicoll Lord and Cornelius C. Cuyler was celebrated quietly yesterday at 12:30 in the apartment of the bride, at the Essex, Madison Ave. and Fifty-Sixth Street, by the Rev. Dr. Thomas Hall. DeLancey Nicoll gave the bride away. She, of course, had no attendants. DeWitt Cuyler was his brother's best man.
After the ceremony, which was attended by relatives, there was a reception for intimate friends of Mr. and Mrs. Cuyler. About 250 were asked; many came from Tuxedo, where the bride has spent most of her time the past few years. Mr. and Mrs. Cuyler have gone to Washington. The bride is the widow of James Brown Lord, the architect who died several years ago, and is the sister of DeLancey Nicoll and Benjamin Nicoll.
