TROTH ANNOUNCED OF EVELYN SLOANE; Will Be Wed to Lt. P. R. Pyne 3rd of Marines at Church of Heavenly Rest Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. John Sloane of 48 East Ninety-Second Street have announced the engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter Evelyn to Lieut. Percy R. Pyne 3rd, USMCR, son of Mrs. Grafton H. Pyne of this city and the late Mr. Pyne. The wedding will take place in the chapel of the Episcopal Church of Heavenly Rest on Saturday.
Miss Sloane is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Sloane and the late Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin Nicoll. The Misses Grace Elsie Sloane and Nancy Sloane are her sisters. The bride-elect attended the Chapin and Foxcroft Schools and Barnard College.
Lieutenant Pyne is the grandson of Mrs. Percy Rivington Pyne and the late Mr. Pyne and of the late Mr. and Mrs. Eben Wright. The prospective bridegroom studied at the Groton School and Princeton University where he belonged to the Ivy Club. Before entering the service he was associated with M. W. Kellogg Co., engineers and contractors. He is a member of the Racquet Club.
