Earl of Lennox by King Malcolm IV of Scotland
Enfant(s):
There are no known charters of the first Earl Alwin that have
survived, but there can be little doubt that he was earl for a time. He granted lands to the church of Kilpatrick, although the date is uncertain. The poem of Muredach Albanach, his contemporary, adds little or nothing to our knowledge of Alwin, except that his chief seat was at Balloch.
