He was a son of Dirk Terpening and Rachel De Graff. Samuel married Maria Alsdorf ( Daughter of Lawrence ) . UI City Deeds 19:219 May have been the Samuel Teerpenningh who signed the Provincial Convention Articles for the city and counties of New York on April 29, 1775. He was a member of the American Revolution as a Private on May 4, 1778 as listed in Halfmoon, Albany County, New York Colony. Surname spelled Teerpenning .
