   Biography
   Robert of Meulan was born about 1046.[1]

   "When he was very young, he accompanied William, Duke of Normandy [Future King William] to England and distinguished himself at the Battle of Hastings in 1066".[1][2] Alias: Robert de Wigornia[3] [citation needed] b. 1040/50[2] Beaumont, Normandy[3] d. 05 Jun 1118[2] Preaux, Normandy[3] Burial: Chapter House of, Preaux, Normandy[4] Death: Robert of Meulan, Count of Meulan, died 5 June 1118, and was buried in the chapter house of the Abbey of St. Pierre, Preaux, (Normandy).[1]

   The issue of Robert de Meulent by his second wife was a daughter named Emma, born, according to Orderic, in 1102; two sons (twins), baptised Waleran and Robert, born in 1104; a third son, known as Hugh the Poor, afterwards Earl of Bedford, and three other daughters, Adeline, Amicia, and Albreda, all of whom must have been born after 1104, when their father, then Earl of Leicester, was well stricken in years. Orderic, indeed, says he had five daughters, the fifth being named Isabel, after her mother.
