My grandfather was a Bumbard. He was from Louisiana and lived in and
around
Mansfield, La. He is buried next to my grandmother at the Old Wallace
cemetery in
Wallace, La. The James Bumbard that you spoke of in your article was my
cousin. The
name was changed by on of my father's brother's wives [my aunt by
marriage]. She was a
war bride from WWII and was from Austrailia. There, "bum" was slang for
"butt", so she
changed the spelling of their name only. She is now decased and is
buried in Tyler, Tx. as
is my uncle. Try Red River, Caddo, or DeSoto Parish, La.

I'm guessing, after looking at my records, that we may be speaking about a
mutual relative.
My father spoke often of an Aunt Corrin, could this be the same lady.
James CHARLES
BUMBARD WOULD HAVE BEEN HER BROTHER, MY GRANDFATHER. HE
DIED OF A HEART CONDITION IN THE 1940'S IN DESOTO PARISH LA. THE
DEATH CERTIFICATE SAID FROM ARDUOUS DRINKING AND SUCH.HE WAS
IN HIS EARLY 40'S. MY FATHER WAS A LITTLE BOY AT THE TIME. HIS
NAME IS AUBREY B.BUMBARD.

I was so glad to hear from you. My family tree maker has a glitch in it
right now but I will
send information on all family members when I get in to the system. You
have done a lot
of work. My grand father Charlie or "Shorty" as he was called was married
to Fannie Mae
Adams whose family fought in the "War of the Great Insurrection"- Civil
war. My dad
lives in Longview, TX and has long been retired from the oilfield. He is
a complete novel
just in his life alone. My mother was Clara Dell, if you speak with your
grandmother, I am
sure she remembers her. She was the only blue eyed person in the family,
she married my
father Aubrey in 1951 and I was born in 1953. My father has been married
several times
but has no other children. I will get you a copy of my file when it is
up to add to yours.
Its was so to find you. We still spell it Bumbard. It is such a find
when you find someone
else doing this.
