    Archibald (or Gillespic) Campbell, Lord of Lochow, was granted several forfeited estates 2 May 1343, and received also from Mary, Countess of Menteith, a grant of Kilmun, confirmed by charter of King David II 11 October 1363. He has been reported to have married a daughter of Sir John Menteith, but there is no confirmation of this. He married Mary (or Isabella) daughter of Sir John Lamont of that Ilk, and died in 1394 having by her issue:

    Sir Gillespie or Archibald, added largely to the family possessions, was twice married, and had three sons, Duncan, Colin and David, and a daughter, married to Duncan Macfarlane of Arrochar. Colin, the second son, was designed of Ardkinglass and of his family, the Campbells of Ardentinny, Dunoon, Carrick, Skipnish, B lythswood, Shawfield, Rachan, Auchwillan and Dergachie are branches.

    He was granted several forfeited estates 2 May 1343, and received also from Mary, Countess of Menteith, a grant of Kilmun, confirmed by charter of David II 11 October 1363.
    On 2 May 1343 David II granted him many forfeited lands including those of his brother Dougall Campbell and the barony of Morfrath (Melfort). He had a grant from Mary, Countess of Menteith of Kilmun which was confirmed by David II 11 Oct. 1363. He also obtained a large grant of land from John Menteith, Lord of Knapdal and Arran 29 Nov. 1352. On 15 March 1368/9 he had a charter to Craignish, Melfort, Straquhir and others.
    He was an M.P. and in June 1368 he was directed to come to the King to be bound to keep the peace and restrain maruaders on other lands and because of this obligation he was absent from Parliament at Perth 18 Feb. 1369. At the same time it was proposed that the King and Court should pass through his lands in connection with the price of the wool to be purchased for payment of the King's ransom to England. On 26 March 1371 he paid homage to Robert II at Scone. Robert II granted him Loch Gilp, Earndrome, Loch Melfort and Loch Longe with half the dues of ward and relief within that district.

    ARCHIBALD [Gillespie] Campbell, son of COLIN Campbell & his wife --- (-before 1394).¬â€  David II King of Scoltand granted "all the lands which by just right pertained to Dugall Cambell, brother of Gillespic" to "Gillespick Cambell, son of Sir Colin Cambell knight" by charter dated 4 Jul 1343[164].¬â€ 
    [m firstly ---.¬â€  Balfour Paul states that Archibald Campbell is "said to have married first a daughter of Sir John Menteith, second son of Walter Stewart Earl of Menteith" but implies that there is no proof that this statement is correct[165].]¬â€ 
    m [secondly] ISABELLA [Mary] Lamont, daughter of JOHN Lamont, third of that Ilk & his wife ---.¬â€  Her marriage is confirmed by the charter dated 12 Mar 1440 under which her grandson "Sir Duncan le Cambel knight Lord of Lochawe" donated alms from "his lands of Ardenaslate" to the church of Dunovyng [Dunoon], for the souls of "his grandfather Celestin Cambel and Isabella Lamont [Laigmani] his lawful wife·Ä¶Colin Cambel his father and Mariote filie M·ÄôCwill Cambel matris quondam nostre·Ä¶his late wife Marcellina Stewart and Margaret Stewart his present wife"[166].¬â€

    1.¬â€ ¬â€ ¬â€ ¬â€ ¬â€ ¬â€ ¬â€ ¬â€  COLIN Campbell of Lochow (-[1412/14]).¬â€  "Robert Erskine of that Ilk" gave "Colin Cambell son of Archibald Campbell of Lochow" the ward "and marriage of the lands of Menestrie, belonging to --- Cambell, son and heir of John Cambell of Menistre" by charter dated 14 Aug 1364[167].¬â€  "John de Prestwyk, son and heir of the deceased Mariot Garrechel" granted "half of the isle of Insalte in the barony of Lechaw" to "Colin Cambale, son and heir of Gyllaspic Cambale Lord of Lochaw" by charter dated 10 Sep 1375[168].¬â€  m his second cousin, MARIOT Campbell, daughter of JOHN Campbell & his wife ---.¬â€  Her parentage and marriage are confirmed by the charter dated 12 Mar 1440 under which her grandson "Sir Duncan le Cambel knight Lord of Lochawe" donated alms from "his lands of Ardenaslate" to the church of Dunovyng [Dunoon], for the souls of "his grandfather Celestin Cambel and Isabella Lamont [Laigmani] his lawful wife·Ä¶Colin Cambel his father and Mariote filie M·ÄôCwill Cambel matris quondam nostre·Ä¶his late wife Marcellina Stewart and Margaret Stewart his present wife"[169].¬â€  Colin & his wife had six children:¬â€
