·Ä¢ Occasionally, the following is published on various geneaology sites as fact: William Teague b. ca 1693, Cecil County, MD, wife Isabella Loftin b. 19 Dec 1693. However, several very assiduous researchers have been UNABLE to verify that. It is also possible that the wife referred to was Isabella Pennington (ca 1697, Cecil County, MD). One of those researchers, Ashley Loftin, was kind enough to send me photocopies of records that he had examined during his years of hands-on research. Indeed, there is no reference to anyone but an Isabell/Isabella. This is an on-going unsolved gap in our information. Unless solid evidence has come to light (evidence many of us would love to examine), please be advised that this controversy exists for both the Loftin/Lofton researchers and the Pennington researchers. Hi, I also have a William Loftin born 1658 married to Elizabeth. They had
a daughter Isabella Lofton born 19 Dec 1693 in St. Georges Par, Baltimore
Co., MD who died 1762 in Rowan Co. NC. She married William Teague about
1714 in Connawangoe Creek, Cecil, MD. That's about all I have on the
Loftin family but I would appreciate more. Thanks--Kathleen

I have a Elizabeth Loftin b.1 jan 1714 of Baltimore MD, married to Moses
Teague b. abt 1718 of St. Anne's County MD, in my family tree. Eliz.
father was Thomas Loftin b. 25 nov 1691 married to Eleanor_____. It is
very interesting that you say your Isabella's last name was Loftin. My
Moses Teague's mothers last name is not known by my sourses. Is it
possible that my Isabella b. abt 1694 is this person? If so I have some
information you may need on the decendents and ancestors.
    Sue
[My note. There must be some mistake in Sue's memo. Judging from the
mispelling and punctuation errors, I suspect she was not paying attention
to her message. Elizabeth Loftin, mentioned above, certainly could 'not'
have been born and married four years later. MLWelborn 20Feb2000.

Ethel, I am looking at Ashley Loftin's chart work on the "Md" branch of
Baltimore Co (later Harford Co.) Loftins. Isabell, dau.of William Loftin
and Elizabeth Ives b. 1693 and d. 1731 married William Teague of nearby
Cecil Co. MD. They left for Frederick Co. VA (now Jefferson and Berkeley
Co.s WV) and their son Moses married Elizabeth Loftin (dau. of Thomas
and Eleanor Loftin of Harford/Cecil Co. MD)Thomas was a brother of
Isabell Loftin - so Moses and Elizabeth were 1st Cousins.
There is much more on these connections. Dick M. College Park MD

ps. also some disagreements on who Isabell really was!
