He belonged to the Udalriching family and was a son of Adrian, who had also held the county of Orléans, and possible of Waldrada, a Nibelungid. Odo first appears as an imperial legate to the Eastern Saxons in 810, when he was captured by the Wilzi. In 811, as count (comes), according to the Annales Fuldenses, he signed a peace treaty with the Vikings.
According to the Vita Hludowici, in 827, he was named to replace the deposed Matfrid in Orléans. Odo, along with Heribert, a relative, possibly his cousin, were exiled in April 830 by Lothair I and Orléans confiscated. Matfrid was reinstated.
In 834, while fighting Matfrid and Lambert I of Nantes, partisans of Lothair, Odo, his brother William, Guy of Maine, and Theodo, abbot of Saint Martin of Tours, were killed.
Odo's wife was Engeltrude or Ingiltrud. Their eldest daughter Ermentrude married Charles the Bald of West Francia. He left a son William who was executed by his own brother-in-law in 866.

Adrian is named as son of Gerhard in a charter dated 793 which also names his germanus Erbio[332].]
same person asဦ? ADRIANUS (-before 10 Nov 821). No proof has so far been found which confirms this co-identity. However, the name Adrianus was unusual at that time which indicates that it may be correct.
m WALDRADA, daughter of --- (-after 15 Feb 824).
"Uualtrat relicta Adriani" donated property "in castello Pingi in pago Wormacense" to Fulda by charter dated 10 Nov 821 with the consent of "Votoni comitis"[333]. "Uualtrat et Voto" donated property "in pago Wormacense in castello Pingna" to Fulda by charter dated 15 Feb 824, subscribed by "Albrichi comitis"[334].
Adrianus & his wife had two children:
i) ODO (-after 15 Feb 824).
"Uualtrat relicta Adriani" donated property "in castello Pingi in pago Wormacense" to Fulda by charter dated 10 Nov 821 with the consent of "Votoni comitis"[335]. "Uualtrat et Voto" donated property "in pago Wormacense in castello Pingna" to Fulda by charter dated 15 Feb 824[336]. Neither of these charters states that Odo was the son of Waldrada, but this is a fair assumption.
[same person as ဦ? EUDES [Odo] (-killed in battle Jun 834). Comte d´Orléans. Levillain identifies Odo, son of Waldrada, with Eudes Comte d'Orléans[337]. This seems unlikely to be correct as the name Guillaume/Wilhelm (brother of Eudes Comte d´Orléans) does not appear at all in the Udalrichinger family.]

"Wialdruth et Guntram" donated property "in Buosinesheim" to Kloster Lorsch for the soul of "Rutperti comitis quondam viri mei" by charter dated 19 Feb 834[338].
m ([808]) ROBERT [III] Graf im Wormsgau, son of ROBERT [II] Graf im Wormsgau und Oberrheingau & his first wife Theoderata (-before 19 Feb 834). "Karolusဦaugustusဦimperator Romanumဦrex Francorum et Langobardorum" issued a judgment by charter dated 8 Mar 812 which names "fidelibus nostri: Gerulfus, Guntlandus, Hedo, Armannus, Hamricus, Sicardus, Rotbertus comitibusဦAmalricus comiti palatii nostro"[339].

Odo I (French: Eudes; also Hodo, Uodo, or Udo in contemporary Latin) (died 834) was the Count of Orléans (comes Aurelianensium) following the final deposition of Matfrid until his own deposition a few years later.
He belonged to the Udalriching family and was a son of Adrian, who had also held the county of Orléans, and possibly of Waldrada, a Nibelungid. Odo first appears as an imperial legate to the Eastern Saxons in 810, when he was captured by the Wilzi. In 811, as count (comes), according to the Annales Fuldenses, he signed a peace treaty with the Vikings.
According to the Vita Hludowici, in 827, he was named to replace the deposed Matfrid in Orléans. Odo, along with Heribert, a relative, possibly his cousin, were exiled in April 830 by Lothair I and Orléans confiscated. Matfrid was reinstated.
In 834, while fighting Matfrid and Lambert I of Nantes, partisans of Lothair, Odo, his brother William, Guy of Maine, and Theodo, abbot of Saint Martin of Tours, were killed.
Odo's wife was Engeltrude or Ingiltrud. Their eldest daughter Ermentrude married Charles the Bald of West Francia. He left a son William who was executed by his own brother-in-law in 866.

He is the son of Waldrade and Adrian d'Orleans (c. 760-c821), Comte d'Orleans et Comte Palatine, and son of Gerold I de Vinzgouw and Emma d'Alemanie.
He married Engeltrude de Fezensac, daughter of Leuthard I, Comte de Paris, which had the following children:
1. Ermentrude d'Orleans (c.830-869), wife of Charles II the Bald.
2. William d'Orleans (-866), Comte d'Orleans, who was beheaded for treason by order of Charles the Bald.
