THOMAS OSBORNE V was born in Henrico (Chesterfield) Co. VA on his family's portion of the Coxendale plantation, presumably around 1690. In the early 1710s he married ANN WORSHAM, daughter of John Worsham of Bermuda Hundred.[1]
Around 1734 he acquired from Peter Jefferson 400 acres on the Appomattox River at Saylers Creek in Prince George County [records lost], the portion that soon after became Amelia County.[2] From the tithes list we learn that son Thomas Jr. moved up first, establishing the plantation, and Thomas Sr. followed around 1738. In 1743 he petitioned the Amelia Co. court for a tavern license.[3]
About 1748 [4] he joined his son Reps in Lunenburg (Charlotte) County, where he died in 1755.[5] He did not leave a will. Robert Wooding was appointed administrator, with William Marable and Robert Wade as his securities. An inventory of his estate was taken on May 24, 1755; it totaled only £11.6.5 [6]
