Biography
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mary_II,_Countess_of_Menteith
Mary II, Countess of Menteith was a Scottish noblewoman. Her father was Alan II, Earl of Menteith,[1] who died c. 1330. She is believed to have agreed with her kinsman Muireadhach III, in 1330, that he should hold the Earldom, but when he was killed in August 1332, Mary assumed the title. She married Sir John Graham (d. 28 February 1347), who in her right became Earl of Monteith and assumed the title in May 1346.[2] She died sometime prior to 29 April 1360. She was the mother of Margaret Graham, Countess of Menteith.[3]
Notes‰
The male line of the Stewart Earls failed in the fourth generation, when Lady Mary, the daughter and heiress of Alan ll, carried the earldom by marriage to Sir John Graham, a gallant warrior, who did not long enjoy it, being cruelly put to death by the English after the battle of Durham.

(Alan, son of Alan & Marjory, was Mary·Äôs father)
Earl Alan & his wife had one child:
i) MARY de Menteith (-before 29 Apr 1360). She succeeded her uncle as Ctss of Menteith, suo iure. m (before 1334, Papal dispensation 1 May 1334) JOHN Graham, son of --- (-hanged 28 Feb 1347). Balfour Paul states that, according to Fraser, John de Graham Earl of Menteith was a younger son of Patrick de Graham[93], but also cites a contrary view[94]. From a chronological point of view, it seems unlikely that John could have been the son of Patrick de Graham and his wife Annabella, whose marriage has been dated to [1251/60], given the date of John·Äôs own marriage. Earl of Menteith, de iure uxoris.
John & his wife had one child:
(a) MARGARET Graham (-[21 Jul 1372/4 May 1380]). Ctss of Menteith.
