Floris I of Holland (born ca. 1020/1030 in Vlaardingen - killed June 28, 1061 in Gelderland, Netherlands) was Count of Holland (which was called Frisia at that time) from 1049 to 1061. He was a son of Dirk III and Othelindis.
He succeeded his brother Dirk IV who was murdered in 1049. He was involved in a war of a few Lotharingian vassals against the imperial authority. On a retreat from Zaltbommel he was ambushed and killed in battle at Nederhemert (called Hamerth at the time), on 28 June 1061.
He married ca. 1050 Princess Gertrude of Saxony, daughter of Bernard II, Duke of Saxony and Eilika of Schweinfurt, and had at least three children by her:
Dirk V (c. 1052, Vlaardingen·Äì17 June 1091).
Bertha (c. 1055·Äì1094, Montreuil-sur-Mer), who married Philip I of France in 1072.

Floris I of Holland (also called Florent I)born (1017 in Vlaardingen, Zuid Holland, Netherlands - June 28, 1061 in Gelderland, Netherlands) was Count of Holland (which was called Frisia at that time) from 1049 to 1061. He was a son of Dirk III and Othelindis of Nordmark.
He succeeded his brother Dirk IV who was murdered in 1049. He was involved in a war of a few Lotharingian vassals against the imperial authority.

d)¬â ¬â ¬â ¬â ¬â ¬â ¬â ¬â BERTHA of Holland ([1058]-Montreuil-sur-Mer, Pas-de-Calais 15 Oct 1094).¬â The Liber Modernorum Regum Francorum records the marriage of "filiam ducis Frisiâ¶" and "rex Philippus"[361].¬â The Chronologia Johannes de Beke names (in order) "Theodricum et Florencium·Ä¶et Machtildim" as children of Count Floris & his wife, specifying that "Machtildim" married "Philippus rex Francie" after the death of her father which indicates that "Machtildim" in this text is an error for Bertha[362].¬â The Historia Francorum names "filiam Florentii ducis Frisonum Bertam" as wife of King Philippe[363].¬â Her marriage was arranged as part of the settlement under which her future husband recognised her stepfather as Count of Flanders[364].¬â Her husband sent her to Montreuil after repudiating her.¬â The necrology of the abbey of Saint-Victor records the death "Id Oct" of "Berta mater Ludovici regis"[365].¬â Clarius·Äôs Chronicon Sancti Petri Vivi Senonensis records the death in 1094 of ·ÄúBerta regina, quⶠa rege Philippo prius fuerat derelicta·Äù[366].¬â m (1072, repudiated 1092) as his first wife, PHILIPPE I King of France, son of HENRI I King of France & his second wife Anna Iaroslavna of Kiev (1052-châ¢teau de Melun, Seine-et-Marne 30 Jul 1108, bur Abbaye Saint BenoâÆt-sur-Loire).
