LifeSketch: This is my Aunt Alta. She was a short bosomy woman who married the special man John Guyot. We all new him as Uncle Jack. A very special pair that came to Grandma Hattie's several times a year. She would come first. He would drop her off for a long visit with all her family. He would return with a station Wagon that he had a plastic pool in it with fresh sea food. Then the fun would begin. He and Aunt Alta would start cooking up big pots of Louisiana Gumbo (very spicy). I always felt special because I did not live far from Grandma's house and I seemed to get in on every visiting relative that arrived. God blessed me I believe. Sometimes they would bring their grand daughter Laura. She was brown as a berry. Her coloring came from her mother and living in the sunshine state. Beer and Gumbo rolled on and on for days. Everyone loved Uncle Jack. He was as funny as our Aunt. He could get her laughing so hard she would shake all over. Some of the best times of my life was spent at Grandma's greeting all the relatives and friends that came to see her, a specially, graced and blessed woman.
