Wilbert Postma, retired farmer, passed away Saturday evening at his farm home north of Sanborn. Mr Postma suffered from emphysema.
Funeral services were held Tuesday. Feb. 7. at 2 00 p.m In the First Reformed Church Rev. Walter J. Kline officiated. A quartet composed of Mr and Mrs Wllraer Van Engen and Mr and Mrs Arthur Bosch sang "Good Night and Good Morning" and "Someday WeWill Understand." accompanied by Mrs Neil Beyer Mrs. David Norton. Mrs. Warren Norton and Mrs Henry Grooters were in charge of the flowers. Casket bearers were O B. Snyder, Henry Grooters, Carl Postma, Alvin Mastbergen, Lawrence Wagner and PeterHaack. Burial was in Roseland Cemetery under the direction of the Sanborn Funeral Home.
Wilbert Postma, son of Robert and Anna Postma was born in Sheldon. Iowa, on April 12, 1897, where he lived his youth and attended rural school.
On March 30, 1916 he was united in marriage to Jennie Bilsland at Sheldon. After their marriage they lived near Sheldon, until March of 1929 when they moved to Sanborn. He lived near Sanborn until the time of his death on February 4, 1967, at the ago of 69 years, 9 months and 22 days.
He is survived toy his father Robert Postma of the Holland Home in Sheldon, his wife Jennie, three sons, Robert of Melvin, Leonard of Sheldon, Howard of Sanborn, one daughter Dorothy, Mrs Henry 'Hap' Dykstra of Sibley, 12 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, and one sister Mrs. Glen France of Jacksonville, Oregon.
He was preceeded in death by his mother, and 2 sons, John and Keith. He was a member of the First Reformed Church of Sanborn, Iowa.
