One of the earliest settlers in Maxatawny Township

KUTZ
Maxatawny Township: From Rt. 222 just north of Kutztown bypass, left on Hottenstein Rd., .6 mile, to site in field on right,
approximately 15 yards from the road. On the left on the hill is a church steeple which is visible from Rt. 222 and can act as a guide
to the Kutz.
Size: 40' x 55'
History: According to MHBA, p. 1191 the first 4 generations of this Kutz line were buried here. Reisinger might have bought the land
about 1840. Before 1997 area was enclosed by a deteriorating wire fence with much seasonal growth and many ground hog holes. The
site was prepared for the erection of a split rail fence by the Kutztown Area High School Key Club. The Lutheran Brotherhood
financed the fencing. Project is still incomplete.
Gravemarkers and inscriptions: One inscribed stone remains.
