!DEATH-FAMILY: Last will and testament for John Henry,Jackson, Ohio; Written 21 Mar 1848, Filed 14 Jun 1848;Jackson, Ohio Probate Court; Salt Lake FamilyHistory Library, Film # 301050; ENCL HEN 0005; NOTE:Appears that Mrs Henry was deceased prior to will of husband as she was not mentioned in will.

(Will) Be it remembered that heretofore___ on the 14th dayof June 1848 was filed in the Clerks Office of the Court of Comission Pleas for the County of Jackson and State ofOhio, the last will and testament of John Henry deceased which will is in the words and figures following to wit: In the name of God amen. I JOHN HENRY being sick and considering the uncertainty of this mortal life and being of sound mind and memory blessed be Almighty God for the same, do make this my last will and testament in manner and form following: First, I give and bequeath unto my sonGEORGE HENRY all of the following real estate situated inJackson County State of Ohio namely the west half of the south east quarter of section twenty four, township seven range eighteen with all the priveleges and appertaiancesthereto belong to him and his heirs and assigns forever. Also I give and bequeath to my daughter MARY HENRY andELIZABETH HENRY...(unreadable) township seven rangeeighteen situated in the County and State aforesaid. AlsoI give and bequeath to my sons ROBERT HENRY and JAMES HENRY each one hundred dollars; Also I give and bequeath the restand residue of my moneys credits personal property andafter the payment of my debts to my daughters MARY HENRY and ELIZABETH HENRY in equal proportions. And lastly I do appoint ROBERT HENRY and JAMES HENRY my sons sole executors of this my last will and testament. In witness where of I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 21st day of March,AD 1848. JOHN HENRY (his mark) Signed sealed published and declared by the above named JOHN HENRY to be his last will and testament in presence of us who in his presence and at his request have subscribed our names as witnesses thereto. BEVERLY KEENAN, JAMES STEPHENSON. At a special session of the associate judges of the Court of Common Pleas of Jackson County Ohio: convened at the Court Housefor the purpose of taking the probate of the last will and testament of JOHN HENRY late of Lick Township said JacksonCounty and issuing letters testamentary the now BEVERLY KEENAN and JAMES STEPHENSON subscribing witnesses to the said will being first duly sworn according to law deposeand say that the instrument presented to them and subscribed by them is the last will and testament of JOHN HENRY that the said instrument was subscribed in our presence by the said John Henry and that we subscribed and attested the same at his request. That the said testator was of full age and of sound mind and memory at the time of making said will and that the said testator was under no restraint. BEVERLY KEENAN, JAMES STEPHENSON. Sworn to andsubscribed in open court, June 14th 1848. Jacob Westfall,Clerk.
